When we first set out to stage such a day we planned a family day with all the usual stuff you would expect of a village day out with live music from local talent. It wasn't until a month into planning that the connection with Victory park and the 60th anniversary of the Second World War was made. upon this discovery we thought it would be especially nice merge our event with anniversary and later thought about rededicating the park. Because of the rain the Rededication never took place, we also had to cancel the fly past and the paratrooper drop, the 22 piece 40’s band was moved in to the village hall. But the parade around the village went very well.
